Alex Rebeiz is Old Dominion Soccer Club’s Assistant Director of Coaching. Alex has been playing soccer his whole life. His first organized competitive soccer experience was on his middle school team at age 12. At age 15 he began playing for his Catholic High School team at the College Saint Esprit of Mbour State in Senegal. He was selected for the Neighborhood Adult Soccer League in his home town when he was 16 years old and played for Toure Kunda of Mbour, Senegal. During this time, his team won the Mbour state championship three times. In 1990 he was selected for the U-17 Senegalese National Team as well as the U-17 Club Stade team in Mbour.
From 1991 through 1995 Alex played college soccer for Lycee Demba Diop and was recognized as the team’s top scorer. Because of his prowess he joined the semi-professional league Club Stade of Mbour and played there until 1996.
Alex is still active in the soccer scene as a player. He was a member of the USASA Coed National Team which on the championship in 2004 and 2nd place in 2005. He is also on a championship Over Thirty men's team. Alex has been assistant coach of the the Old Dominion Soccer Club's FLAMES girls travel soccer team for three years. This team was undefeated in the fall 2005 season as U-14s, won the U-14G championship in the Old Dominion Cup Tournament in 2005, won the Beach FC Sun Cup and Columbus Day tournaments in 2006-2007 as U-15s and U-16s. Alex has also been head coach of the U-13G ODSC SPARX for two years, during which time the team won the Old Dominion Cup as U-12Gs in 2007, was a Finalist in the Southside Indoor Soccer League in 2007, and Finalist in the 6v6 Williamsburg tournament from 2006 through 2008.
Alex holds an E License from the United States Soccer Federation, and a bachelor’s degree of General Studies, and speaks five languages (French, English, Spanish, Wolof and Creole).
